Lightly Frazzled
Like I Was Saying...self improvement is tough, but not only on you, but the people around you.
I’ve got a friend that’s given up a few things, for self-improvement purposes and well, let’s say, he’s been a little bit testy of late.
And well, being friends and wanting to be a good friend and supportive, you just kinda have to -- endure. You hope, pray, that his new found angst ridden itch, will pass.
It did finally, but you can still sense the edge inside ‘em.
Same goes for Diego, who I think is teething. Before writing this post, I spent the last hour and half with him fussing all over the place. He’d have moments of calm, but then like five to ten minutes of utter misery.
I tried everything, funny sounds (that usually work), changing his diaper, feeding him, walking him around, swinging him to and fro, and well, he was having none of it.
I’m not saying my nerves are fried. It take a lot more to get to that point, but I’m a tad unsettled.
There were to things that caught my eye or my ears in one case:
1. Driving home there was thing guy buzzing along on a unicycle. He was just riding along, outfitted with a helmet with a mirror on it, and a backpack. At points, he was making more headway than me in regular traffic. I did manage to catch some footage of him as I passed him, but then had this thought as I was driving one handed, that I’d swerve and ironically capture me running into him. I stopped recording after that.
2. I live near a high school and apparently they had a walk-out today to protest ICE. As I was brining in groceries I could hear the faint sound of a throng of kids, yelling chants.
I promised myself awhile ago that I would no longer post about politics online. Things have gotten so divisive in today’s world and there are some folks that make moral judgements on you based solely on your politics.
I remember a time where that wasn’t the case, but alas, those days are gone in her hyper-connected world.
So I just mention it as something that happened today in my part of the world.
