Taking It Seriously
...got up, with the full intent of catching the nine-thirty Mass and going to OCIA, but Diego was up and Lucy looked like she needed to catch up on some sleep. So I got to be Diego’s mattress for an hour and half.
There was really no OCIA class today due to a Eucharistic Exhibit at our parish today. So our students just had to go visit the exhibit and check it out.
It’s not a bad exhibit. Here’s what I didn’t know: there’s a ton of Eucharistic miracles. Some I knew, others I didn’t know about. One thing about the Catholic faith, is there’s a lot of history in our two thousand years of existence.
The cool thing about this exhibit is that it has a ton of interactive stuff, plus, the people working the exhibit have some experience with handling the Eucharist.
One guy that I was visiting the exhibit said he talked to the lady the washes the linens for the church at home. She explained how if she found a little particle of the Eucharist on a linen, then she hand washes it and her husband dumps the water in their garden. She also mentioned how Catholic Churches are outfitted with a special drain that when washing the dishes used during Mass, that drain goes outside instead of the main sewage drain.
I’m telling you, we Catholics take the Eucharist seriously.
After the exhibit I came home, hung out with Diego some more, and waited for the five o’clock Mass, which I caught.
Then, I came home, ate some leftover pizza, and Marcos and I watched The Wrecking Crew again. It was a better the second time around.
