One of Thousand Paper Cuts

One of Thousand Paper Cuts

...you ever sit down to write in your daily journal and you suddenly forget why you existed, much less your day?

I vaguely remember waking up --

Oh yeah, I had a doctor’s appointment today.

Back in November I ended up in the ER due to high blood pressure. It was Thanksgiving evening. My mom and Lucy had prepared the meal and it was one of the Top 5 Thanksgiving meals I’ve ever eaten. And because I have the will power of an artichoke, I hate too much and ended up in the ER.

They had to give me some medical cocktail to lower it down and sent me on the way with some pills.

CUT TO:

A couple of months later and again, I could feel my blood pressure going through the roof and ended up in the ER again. This time I took it seriously and scheduled an appointment.

So I’ve been good. Taking the pills I hate and finally scheduling the appointment and making a concerted effort to get there.

But before that, I had to go pick up Jacob from his mechanic’s shop after he’d dropped off his truck.

It’s kind of weird, Jacob and I seem to be suffering from a thousand paper cuts in our dealings with reality right now. Nothing major, but just small little things that are annoying.

The docs visit went fine. Here’s some more pills, stop eating so much sodium, and lose some weight. Yeah, you’re snoring could send you to the grave, so we’d better get that checked out.

After that, it was home, taking care of Diego and eventually making a late night run to HEB to buy some acetone so Lucy can do her nails for a hush, hush, event tomorrow.
