Like I Was Saying...
I'm a big fan of Eric Kim's blog for several reasons:
Eric posts frequently.
Eric uses the tools I have available.
It feels like he blogs for himself but at the same time for other people. (I know its sounds strange.)
There's a fearlessness to his blog.
It's Eric's thinking out load.
Eric does have good insights.
Eric meshes writing, video, and photography. Things I'm interested in.
Some things I don't like about his blog:
Because his blog is so image-heavy, it's sometimes hard to load. And I have a newish Mac + fiber. Go figure.
Sometimes his posts are off the wall.
Some of Eric's posts could use a little fleshing out.
All this to say is that I will try to mimic his blogging and vlogging style for the next year.
Why?
Well, one, what the hell else am I going to do?
Right now, I don't have many creative outlets. And when I at least try to do something creative, I feel a semblance of sanity.
I'm going to be fearless in my writing and own it.
Right now, I'm gripped by fear. I hope committing to this challenge will help me eliminate that fear.
I've wanted to keep a blog for years. Don't ask me why. It's just been on my bucket list.
My plan for now:
I'm going to keep it simple. I'm going to write my posts in Apple Notes.
Yes, I'm going to run my posts through Grammarly. Sure my writing can be terrible, but not sloppy. I can't stand sloppy writing.
Yes, I'm going to talk about politics and religion. It's two topics I like, and I'm going to own my thoughts. No apologies.
I'm going to have fun doing this - I don't know if you plan for fun, but if this becomes a drag, then I'm going to stop.
Yes, I'm going to incorporate video and photography.
I’m going to post what I'm doing and what I'm working on.
I'm going to use voice as well.
No more deleting posts.
I’m going to write how I talk.
