Like I Was Saying... So today, I published my first Vlog.
I just went ahead and bit the bullet. New Year, New You. I identify as a YouTuber. So I'm going for it.
The challenge is simple -- well, it's a simple concept.
I'm going to shoot a vlog a week. Hopefully, by the end of the year, I'll have fifty-two vlogs.
My only rule is that it has to be more than five minutes for the Vlog to count.
I'm giving myself till Saturday at midnight to post it.
This first episode is a Vlog introducing the Vlog. I don't even know if I should classify it as an episode. I may change that; I don't know.
I tried using standard screenplay format to write it, but that proved pretty clunky. I followed the shots, but not some of the dialogue I wrote. Likewise, I read some of the VoiceOver, but that seemed wooden and disjointed from the talking portion of the Vlog. I had a vague idea of what I wanted to say and outlined it.
It took me all day to record the damn thing.
I shot two versions of the Vlog, but my first twenty-five takes didn't feel right, so I did it all over again.
The editing wasn't too bad.
But my main goal was to shoot something and get it from my camera to iMovie and upload it on YouTube.
The big question remains:
What the hell is the Vlog going to be about, and can I make it entertaining?
