My new daily co-workers are dogs. No, I’m not kidding. Every morning when I go to work, my four dogs follow me into my office, find a space on my floor, and go back to sleep.
They surround me all day. They follow me on short breaks, wondering if this will be the time I’m going to give them a treat.
Working remotely can be nice at times. I don’t miss bumper to bumper traffic, but I do miss the alone time during a commute. It was time where I’d get to chance to listen to my thoughts, listen to a podcast, or read.
Still, I’ve got a couple of hours back in my day.
Working remotely has it pluses and its minus.
I do miss people. I’m a social creature. I like interacting with people daily. I miss the hubbub of an office.
So it was nice when tonight we had a dinner for a manager’s meeting.
It felt normal to sit and hang out with my co-workers.
It is weird seeing people stand and see what they looked like outside of screen.
And some beef plate tasted good.
