So I went out and bought a Sony RX100 Mach VII. I’ve wanted a cool compact camera for a while. Something better than an iPhone but easier to carry than a DSLR. I’ve always fantasized about carrying a camera in my pocket. Well, I finally got my chance.
Thanks be to God, I’ve had the means to buy one.
The Mach 7 is a beast.
Yesterday, we went to Houston for a Rubgy event for Marcos. One of the main reasons I bought the M7 is to shoot his athletic events. I hated the results from the iPhone in long range. Plus, the speed that the Mach 7 fires at it just nutty.
One of the things I’ve been doing some research on is shooting sports photography.
Here’s a couple of things I’ve picked up from a few YouTube videos:
1. Shoot low. It makes the players seem larger than life.
2. Look for the action shots.
3. Don’t crimp (looking at the photo after it’s been taken). Trust your instincts.
4. Practice. Practice. Practice.
Here’s a couple of shots I took:
Let me clear. I’m starting from the ground up here. It’s been awhile since I’ve shot any photography and I didn’t have a grasp on the craft a long time ago. So it’s more of a Ground Zero approach.
